Join Jan Smith, MFA, for a six week class focused on critiquing, editing, and revising your fiction/nonfiction. Class time will be devoted to sharing tips on self-editing, revision strategies, and how to rework drafts to become polished and publishable written pieces. Each participant will read and receive feedback from their peers and instructor weekly.

Jan Smith has an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College, has been the curator of the SOMOS Summer/Winter Writers Series since 2009, and is currently the Executive Director of SOMOS. She is a 2012 recipient of an award from Southwest Writers for her short story, "Breasts," and a 2014 first place award winner for an excerpt from her memoir, “Blink Like Crazy.” Her publications include poems and short stories in Chokecherries, Howl, and The Pitkin Review. She was a Vermont Studio Center Writing Resident in March, 2015, and a winner of the 2013 Taos Writers Award from the UNM Summer Writers Conference.
