On Sunday, January 15, 2017, writers and poets across the United States and in Europe came together for Writers Resist, a “re-inauguration” of our shared commitment to the spirit of compassion, equality, free speech, and the fundamental ideals of democracy. Writers Resist events, large and small, were held in dozens of locations throughout the US and the world.
Inspired by long-time SOMOS member, past president, and activist poet Phyllis Hotch SOMOS will sponsor a WRITERS AND POETS RESIST event on the fourth Sunday of each month from 4 -6:00 pm at the SOMOS Salon. Taos writers and poets are invited to read from their own work and/or selections from other authors/poets joining the many diverse writers' voices throughout history that speak to the ideals of Democracy.
If you would like to read please contact Janet Webb in advance of this month's event, email@example.com or call 575-770-6392.
Musicians and songwriters welcome as well!
